Teleprompter Free was built to help you record videos with your script scrolling on screen. This policy explains, plainly, how the app handles your data.
What the app accesses
- Camera: used to show the live preview and record your videos, including every lens available on your iPhone (front and back).
- Microphone: used to record audio along with the video.
- Photos (only when saving): if you choose “Save to Photos” on the sharing screen after recording, the app writes that video to your photo library. The app never reads or accesses any other photos or videos in your library.
Where your data stays
- Every video you record and every script you write is stored only on your device.
- The app does not send videos, audio, scripts, or any other content to our servers or to third parties.
- A video only leaves your device if you choose to share it — through the iOS share sheet (Photos, Files, Messages, Mail, AirDrop, and so on).
iCloud sync (subscribers)
- With an active subscription, your projects and folders (name, script, and recording preferences) can sync across your own devices.
- This uses the private iCloud storage of your own Apple Account (CloudKit). The data lives in your iCloud account, and neither the app's developer nor any third party can access it.
- Recorded videos are never synced — they stay only on the device that recorded them.
- Without an active subscription, or without an iCloud account signed in on the device, nothing is synced and everything stays local.
Ads and tracking
- To stay free, the app shows a rewarded video ad (through Google AdMob) that has to be watched to the end before exporting each recorded video, except for people with an active “Remove Ads” subscription.
- When you open the app, the system's tracking permission prompt (Apple's App Tracking Transparency) may appear. Allowing tracking helps Google AdMob show more relevant ads; declining does not stop you from using the app, and ads still appear — they simply won't be personalized.
- Google AdMob may collect device identifiers and ad-related usage data, as described in Google's privacy policy. The app itself never sends scripts, videos, or audio to AdMob or to any other third-party service.
- Beyond serving those ads, the app collects no usage analytics and sends no data to servers of our own.
